SoberBreath gives you a breath alcohol reading for personal reference only. It is not a legal or medical measurement, and it does not determine whether you are fit to drive — only a police-approved evidential device can do that. If you have been drinking, the safe choice is not to drive.

Wait at least 20 minutes after your last drink. Alcohol takes roughly that long to be absorbed into the blood, and residual alcohol in the mouth needs the same time to clear. Avoid eating or smoking for 20 minutes beforehand, leave 3 minutes between tests, and take two or three readings for a more reliable picture.

No. SoberBreath runs on two 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries, so there is no cable and nothing to plug in. When the LCD starts to flicker, the batteries are running low and it is time to replace them.

It measures 95 × 36 × 18 mm and has an integrated keyring loop, so it sits alongside your car keys without weighing the bunch down.
